FAQ & HELP

Why do I need help with my arsenal?

With all the choices in the bowling ball market today, it’s very easy to duplicate ball reactions within even a four-ball arsenal. Why waste money and worse, not have the right weapon when you need it? If Jim can help you avoid duplicating just one ball, his service has more than paid for itself.

How can Jim do this without seeing me bowl?

If you can provide your ball speed and rev rate, Jim can design a 4, 6, or 8-ball arsenal that will give you a ball reaction to handle whatever lane conditions you are likely to encounter.

What about drillings?

If you are able to send Jim a videotape or DVD of your release, swing and ball reaction, he will be able to pinpoint the right balls for you as well as suggest different layouts. This service cost a few dollars more, but obviously gives Jim much more information about your game.

What if I don’t know my personal stats (ball speed, rev rate, etc.)?

You only need to know:

Speed and Rev Rate: Would you describe yourself as:
  • Stroker (speed under 17 mph off your hand. Rev rate – under 275 rpm)
  • Tweener (speed 17-18 mph. Rev rate – 276-350 rpm)
  • Cranker (Speed over 18 mph Rev rate – over 350 rpm)
Note: On most conditions, you can generally add about 3 mph to the speed registered at the pins on most scoring systems to compute the speed off your hand.

Axis Rotation: Regardless of your ball speed and rev rate, would you describe your ball reaction as:
  • (0°-29°) More end over end with a smooth (less than average) hook
  • (30°-59°) Medium side roll with a fairly angular move to the pocket
  • (60°-90°) Above average side roll (gets down the lane easily and snaps toward the pocket)
Axis Tilt: Regardless of your ball speed and rev rate, would you describe your ball reaction as:
  • (0°-15°) Less than average spin. Ball track near the thumb and fingers
  • (16°-30°) Average spin. Smaller track with some distance between track and fingers
  • (31°-90°) Above average spin. Much smaller track and much farther from thumb and fingers.

If you believe your style is not represented, contact Jim.
